The purchase of The Fulfilment Warehouse adds mail order fulfilment and contract packing capabilities to Alpha Response’s existing offering of digital and physical print and mail services.
The deal has seen Alpha Response directors Craig Whiting, John Orchard and Ray Mullis acquiring the shareholding of The Fulfilment Warehouse founder and owner David Johnston.
All staff will be retained, as will the The Fulfilment Warehouse brand, and there are no immediate plans for either company to move premises.
The Fulfilment Warehouse is currently based in a 10,000 sqft warehouse at Bourton Industrial Park in Bourton-on-the-Water and was set up by Mr Johnston in 1999.
The company turned over just under £500,000 in its past financial year, employing a mix of 20 full and part time staff.
Both Mr Johnston and the directors of Alpha Response are excited about the potential for future growth of the businesses, with opportunities to provide a full suite of mailing services to each other’s client bases.
Mr Johnston said: “It’s the perfect match. Alpha Response’s expertise in print complements what we do, and they are now able to expand their current offering to include contract packing and mail order fulfilment response handling.
“We have a very nice client base, many of which have been with us for 10 years or more, and they have a great client base too. So, where any of those clients have been outsourcing any of the combined services which we can now offer, there is a genuine business opportunity there.
“Having such a broad offering also makes the new company very robust and resilient, so we can all look forward to the future with great confidence. It’s an exciting time.
“I am 75 years old and have been in business a long time – I want to retire safe in the knowledge that my client base will be well protected and I am satisfied that, with Alpha Response, I am leaving them and my staff in good hands.”
